How to ensure that I download the official Hero app from play store?
Option 1. Follow the link or QR code mentioned in thedealership to download the official Hero app
Option 2. Search Hero App in play store/App Store. Select app from the search results and download it for free
Is the app compatible for Android version 8 and IOS 10.0?
The app supports software above version 8 in Android and above iOS 11. However, to enjoy the full set of features, we recommend versions above Android10 and above iOS13.
Should I download any additional app to avail map features?
Additional apps are not required to avail map features. Once you install the Hero app, go to Navigate option to avail map features.
How to check if I have the latest version of app?
Check for updates from Google Play Store/ App store. If any update is available, it is strongly recommended to update the app from Google Play Store/ Apple App Store.
How do I register on this app?
Download the app from App store/Play store. Sign up using registered Mobile number which was registered at the dealership while purchasing the bike. Sign-In using the shared credentials and start using the app.
The user shall be able to use the connected features after activation, which may take a of about four hours.
Is it possible to sign in through same account through different phones when there is more than one person using the bike?
At a single point of time, you can connect only one bike with one device.
What is the procedure to access the app if the mobile number changes?
The mobile number must be updated with authorized dealership. Once the authorized dealership changes the mobile number attached to your registered VIN number, user can login.
What is the process to install app if I change my mobile phone?
Download the app from App store/Playstore. Use the same Hero App ID / password that was created using your Email ID. Sign-In using the same credentials and start using the app.
I didn’t provide all permissions to the app after installing, how does it affect my application’s functionality?
If you don’t provide all permissions to the app, the features requiring the corresponding permissions will be affected. At any point of time you can provide the required permissions by following steps: Settings -> Apps & Notifications -> Hero App -> Permissions
Why I am not able to download the app from Play Store?
Sometimes due to low storage memory in the smart phone, the app might not get installed. Ensure the smartphone has enough storage memory. Also ensure you search with the correct spelling in the Play Store.
My app got suddenly closed. How to avoid it?
Ensure there is no restriction for the app in battery saver settings.
Ensure that app is running with all the permissions prompted by the app during installation or you can access this option from phone settings >> Apps >> Hero App >> Permissions
How to set geofencing for my vehicle?
Click on Geofence icon from features cluster. Enable Geofence by clicking on active slider. Set the area
How can I make sure that my vehicle gets immobalised outside geofence?
Click on Geofence icon from features cluster. Enable Immobalise on Breach by clicking on active slider. Your vehicle will get immobalized if it is outside the geofence radius and speed goes below 3km/h.
How to stop geofencing for my vehicle?
Click on Geofence icon from features cluster and disable geofence by clicking on active slider. A pop up window will appear, click on Yes.
Can I immobalize my vehicle remotely?
Yes you can immobalise your vehicle remotely. For that in Hero App, click on Immobalize from Quick Controls, a pop will appear. Click on Yes and your vehicle will be immobilized if speed goes below 3km/h
How do I disable immobalization after enabling it?
You can go to the immobilize vehicle option and click the Remobilize button to disable immobilization. In case the vehicle remobilisation is triggered with the ignition ON, please Turn OFF the ignition and Turn ON again to operate the bike.
How to change the location shown in the app?
Your Hero app doesn’t allow you to change the location when mobile data and GPS is turned ON. However, you can change the location in profile settings if your GPS is turned OFF.
How can I share vehicle location with my friends and family
From Quick Controls, click on Share location, Choose if you want to share Current location or Live location
For live location you can choose duration for which you want to share your vehicle's location. Click on Share and select an app through which you want to share.
How do I check if my vehicle is in a good health?
Keep your vehicle ignition On, then from Quick Controls in Hero app, click on Vehicle diagnosis. Select Run diagnosis and wait for it to complete 100%. Daignosis details will be displayed on your screen
Can I also check Vehicle Diagnosis history?
Yes, you can. Open Hero app, click on Vehicle diagnosis from Quick Controls. You can click on Diagnosis history and check previous diagnosis report.
Will I be able to use navigation feature without connecting to vehicle?
No, Turn by Turn navigation feature works only if the Smartphone is connected to Hero app
Why I am not able open navigation page properly?
Ensure the Smartphone’s mobile data and GPS are turned ON.
Will I be able to use navigation through Wi-Fi with internet connection?
Yes, you can use navigation through Wi-Fi with internet connection. You should also turn ON your Smartphone GPS in high accuracy mode.
I searched a place and pressed start navigation without connecting to vehicle, I received an instruction to connect to vehicle, should I repeat the search after connecting?
If first time pairing is done, your vehicle automatically connects to your phone when you go near it and switch ON the vehicle, hence you need not to repeat the search.
In case you exit the navigation screen to manually connect through connect icon then your search results will be lost and you should repeat the search.
Can I search a location from other countries in the app?
No, as of now you can’t search a location from other countries in the app.
Why is the navigation instruction not getting updated while I am driving?
Navigation instructions are provided by our Maps service provide. Poor internet connection or low GPS signal might lead to navigation instruction not getting updated.
Can I use navigation assist when mobile data is not available?
Navigation Assist can only be used when the mobile data is ON & available.
Will the map get rerouted if I do not follow the route shown in the map?
If the route shown in the map is not followed, auto rerouting will happen within some distance of travel and corresponding instruction shall be shown on the cluster
During navigation, the app got closed and instrument cluster got disconnected. What are the possible reason and how to reconnect to the speedometer?
To avoid the situation, make sure there is no restriction for the app in battery saver settings.
To reconnect to the speedometer, restart the application and ensure that bluetooth and GPS are turned ON. Once you are in range of the vehicle, the connection is re-established.
Can the user set the overspeed alert limits?
The users can configure the overspeed alert limit in the Hero App. Default speed limit is 80 km/h.
Should Ignition be in off condition for locate my bike also?
Yes, Ignition should be in off condition
Can I generate Trip Report in the app, if I travel in any of the modes provided in the Instrument Cluster?
Trip report generation is independent of the modes provided in the Instrument Cluster.
If the app is connected to the Instrument Cluster, then at every ignition OFF a prompt is popped up in the app to generate the trip report. Click ‘YES’ to generate the Trip report.
How many trips can I save?
All trips with a distance more than 100m are saved and users can access trip data for a year.
Why am I not able to see the traveled route in Trip Report?
Trips longer than 100m are saved. However, conditions like poor internet connectivity or low GPS signal may lead to route not saved in the trip report.
Is there any option to delete rider history?
NO, there is no option for deleting the Trip History of the user in app.
Can I pair it with multiples devices like phone & tablet?
Only one phone can be paired with one Hero app currently.
Suppose rider is already connected to headphone/speakers through Bluetooth, would it be possible to pair with Hero app as well?
Yes, the rider can pair with Hero app even if they are connected to Bluetooth Headphones or Speakers.
Should I be logged in continuously to access all features?
To access the features, the app must be 'ON' and Logged in. But once the user logs out of the app, the device and Phone are not paired anymore.
After Connect 2.0 is launched, what will happen to the Connect 1. customers. How will they recharge theri services.
Connect 1.0 is a completely separate vendor developed solution powered by the Hero Connect App, Connect 1.0 customers will be able to recharge their services via the Hero Connect App using the vendor developed payment solution.
If the Connect 1.0 services are continued, for how long they will get the services.
Connect 1.0 services will continue till the end of the current subscription period. In case customers renews subscription they will be able to continue using the Connect 1.0 services using the Hero Connect App.
How can I change my registered mobile number
The registered mobile no. can be changed in the following ways:
- Customer can request for number update at the time of vehicle service at Hero Service Centres. Number update will be reflected in four hours.
- Their will be a provision given in the new Hero App through which customer can raise a request to update the registered mobile no. (Feature Coming Soon)
IP 67 e sim- what are the special features and benefits of having IP 67 e sim.
Currently we are using a physical SIM (e-SIM solution under development by vendor). The entire TCU is housed in a gasket and is IP67 certified which makes it waterproof and dustproof.
Since ther is only 1 user, who will get the message or alert if the vehicle topples and the user of the app himself is rider
Currently, the App allows only one login at a time via the registered mobile no. Hence topple notification will be received on the mobile phone where the app is active. However, an SMS notification shall be sent to the emergency contacts(max 02 Nos) registered in the application.
Difference between Topple and Crash Alert
Topple Alert is trigerred when a stand still vehicle topples
Crash Alert is Triggered when a moving vehicle comes to a sudden stop and topples.
What will the mobile battery comsumption % while the App will be used
The battery consumption depends on various factors such as screen usage, connectivity, GPS usage, Blue tooth usage etc and varies according to device model and usage
What is the difference between Connected and Non Connected
Connected - A connected vehicle is the one which has a TCU device (with an embedded SIM) in the vehicle. For instance, the owners of Connected variant of Pleasure, Xtreme and other upcoming vehicles. These customers will have exclusive access to telematics features such as Remote Immobilization, Vehicle Tracking, Geofencing, Trip Analysis (Driver Score), Vehicle Diagnostics, Topple Alert, Crash Alert and Theft Alert. One year free subscription will be given to the customers (included in price of vehicle) after which they will have to renew their subscription for an annual fee to continue using these services.
Non - Connected - These are general hygience services available to all Hero customers. It includes all non-telematics based features of the new Hero App such as Book a Service, Roadside Assistance, Document Vault, Vehicle Info, etc.
Damage in accident after sales
Accidental damages are not covered under the TCU warranty terms. The customer have get the TCU repaired / replaced at an additional price.
Damage before Sales in Truck or in stock at dealership
Repair / replacement cost to be beared by HMCL in such cases.
Subscription ended, Renewal not done
For Customers - Subscription renewal reminders will be sent to the customers via messages and App notification starting 3 month prior to expiry (frequency of reminders increasing as date of expiry approaches). Once the subscription expires, the connected services will stop working. Communications will be sent to customers that failure to renew subscription can lead to permanent SIM deactivation which will require additional cost to reactivate services.
For HMCL - Once subscription expires, the SIM moves from 'Active' state to 'Safe Custody' state. We have an agreement with vendor for a Safe Custody period of one year, however, our objective should be to push customers to renew subscription as soon as possible.
